Russia launches an average of 93 ballistic missiles and Iranian drones at Ukrainian cities every day.

These strikes target residential areas, causing an average of 42 Ukrainian civilian casualties daily—many of them children.

This is one family’s story. The Bazylevych family lived in Lviv, hundreds of miles from the frontlines.

Eugenia, 43, was a yoga teacher learning French, a jewelry designer, and a perfumer.

Yaryna, 21, loved skiing, traveling, and rock climbing. She also volunteered to help victims of the war.

Daria, 18, had earned a scholarship to a local Catholic university and recorded a Christmas message for her benefactors.

Emilia, 7, played the piano, adored music, and was the family’s shining star, always trying to out-sing her sisters.

On September 4th, a Russian missile killed them all. Only Yaroslav Bazylevych, the father, survived and now shares their story in the video.

Ukraine is fighting back. It has destroyed one-third of Russia’s Black Sea fleet, two-thirds of its tanks, and captured more territory in Russia in one month of 2024 than Russia seized in Ukraine over an entire year.

For more than two years, U.S. policy strictly prohibited Ukraine from using American weapons to strike bases deep inside Russia—the very locations launching attacks like the one that killed the Bazylevych family.

Even now, the U.S. imposes heavy restrictions on Ukrainian strikes inside Russia, including those designed to protect Ukrainian civilians.

In memory of UCU student Daria Bazylevych, her mother, Yevhenia, and sisters Yaryna and Emilia, Ukrainian Catholic University, together with her father, Yaroslav Bazylevych, and Plast, the national scouting organization of Ukraine, has started an endowed scholarship fund. You can donate here:

  1. I can’t imagine the agony this father, family and friends are going through. My deepest condolences. 😢💔 Breaks my heart for them and countless others who have been robbed of their loved ones by the terrorist actions of ruzzia and it’s enablers.
