The Pentagon congratulated Americans on Flag Day, accompanying it with a picture showing the Russian flag next to the American flag.
“Happy Flag Day! Let’s honor our nation’s symbol – the stars and stripes that unite us all. As we raise the flag, let us remember the values it represents and celebrate the freedom, courage, and resilience that make our country great,” the Pentagon said in a statement.
Former correspondent for the Ukrainian edition of Voice of America, Ostap Yarysh, suggested that the Russian tricolor appeared in the illustration by accident.
Users repeatedly pointed out the error in the comments to the post, but the image was never changed.

Ostap Yarysh is correct, this is a bone-headed design but innocent. It is a red and white stripe on a blue background. Those not affected by TDS could see that because the blue stripe is exactly the same color and has no outline.
