US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth brought his wife Jennifer to two meetings with foreign counterparts where classified information was discussed, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing multiple sources familiar with the meetings.

It is noted that Jennifer Hegseth, a former Fox News producer, is not an employee of the US Department of Defense. According to sources, only those people who have the appropriate clearance can be invited to high-level meetings with foreign partners. It is not known whether the wife of the head of the Pentagon has it.

Sources said that one such meeting took place on March 6 at the Pentagon. Then Hegseth met with his British counterpart John Healy. The day before, the US announced the suspension of military intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Sources added that some foreign participants in the meetings did not even know who Jennifer Hegset was. According to them, the foreign partners were surprised by her presence.
