Putin’s aide claims that NATO forces are allegedly training to attack the territory from Vilnius to Odessa.

Assistant to the Russian ruler, head of the Naval Collegium, Nikolai Patrushev, accused NATO of “practicing the seizure” of the Kaliningrad region.

According to The Moscow Times , Patrushev said that NATO countries are allegedly practicing the capture of Kaliningrad during exercises near Russia’s borders.

“For the second year in a row, NATO is conducting the largest exercises in recent decades near our borders, practicing scenarios of seizing the Kaliningrad region, blocking shipping in the Baltic and Black Seas, and preemptive strikes on the permanent bases of Russian nuclear deterrent forces,” he said.

According to him, NATO forces are allegedly training to attack the territory from Vilnius to Odessa.

In addition, Patrushev is convinced that Russia’s security is openly threatened by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. He believes that Britain is seeking to gain influence in the Black Sea region. London, according to the Russian official, has already formed an “anti-mine coalition” and now wants to escort merchant ships with its navy

Petrushev stated that Russia will respond “adequately and proportionately” to the intentions of Great Britain and a number of European Union countries regarding the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions.

“If diplomatic or legal instruments are ineffective, our navy will be ready to ensure the safety of Russian shipping. Hotheads in London or Brussels need to clearly understand this,” he said.
