PACE became Vice-President of Ukraine

It is about Alexander Merezhko.

The member of the Ukrainian delegation, the representative of the party “Servant of the People”, Alexander Merezhko, was elected Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. This was reported by the deputy chairman of the “Servant of the People” faction, deputy member of the PACE Permanent Delegation to Yevgeny Kravchuk on  Facebook .

She added that Merezhko is a doctor of law, a specialist in international law. He previously became chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation.

As noted, twenty PACE Vice-Presidents are elected annually at the beginning of the regular session and remain in office until the next session opens.

We will remind, on January 27 the representative of Ukraine Maria Mezentseva challenged the appointment of Petro Tolstoy Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

  1. I still believe that it was a mistake for Ukraine to join PACE. This organization is just as useless as the UN.
