The border guards destroyed the Russian flag, which the enemy placed on a Ukrainian observation tower in the Sumy region and covered it with sniper positions.

This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service.

The Russian tricolor was placed in the middle of the night on an observation tower a few meters from the border with Russia.

To prevent the Ukrainian border guards from removing the flag, the enemy placed sniper positions in this direction.

The border guards, taking into account the situation, carried out a successful operation to destroy the Russian flag.

“Thanks to professionalism, skill and dexterity, our defenders managed to quietly approach the tower with a quadrocopter and drop explosives on it, as a result of which the Russian tricolor was destroyed,” the border service said.

War in Ukraine: Update

The enemy does not stop conducting offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone in order to establish full control over the territory of Donbass and hold the land corridor with the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea.

On the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions during the day, May 3, 12 enemy attacks were repulsed. 

During the fighting, the Ukrainian defenders destroyed: 6 tanks, 5 artillery systems (three – MLRS), 15 armored vehicles and 9 vehicles. The enemy has losses in other directions as well.

In order to destroy the transport infrastructure of Ukraine, the enemy launched rocket attacks on objects in the territory of the Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Lvov, Vinnitsa, Kyiv, Transcarpathian, Odessa and Donetsk regions.
