Another prisoner exchange with Russia took place, Ukraine returned 103 soldiers home. This was reported on the Telegram channel by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Ours are home. Another 103 soldiers were returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity. 82 privates and sergeants. 21 officers. Defenders of the Kiev region, Donetsk, Mariupol and Azovstal, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, border guards, police officers,” he said.

The head of state thanked the team that is handling the exchanges for such good news for Ukraine.

Prisoner exchange on September 13

As UNIAN reported, on September 13, another 49 Ukrainians returned from Russian captivity . As Zelensky noted, these are soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the National Police, the State Border Service, as well as civilians.

In particular, this is Lenia Umerova – a girl who was taken hostage by the Russians when she came to take care of her sick father. They also managed to free some of the defenders of “Azovstal”. Hero of Ukraine, military medic Viktor Ivchuk is also at home.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, specified that among those released were 15 NGU soldiers, 13 servicemen of the Navy, four servicemen of the State Border Guard Service, six servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two servicemen of the Territorial Defense, seven civilians and two from the National Police.

The Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, added that the health condition of those returned is “very grave” and that many of these people lost tens of kilograms while in Russian captivity.
