It’s terrible that Ukraine has to rely on fundraisers when the politicians could provide Ukraine with everything it needs. The EU and US alone have a GDP of $40 trillion, which could destroy the russian economy in the bat of an eyelid.
It seems clear to me that Nato; swarming as it is with indifferent, not even fair weather friends and more than a smattering of overt putlerist shitholes, can never be relied upon to help out with real fighting.
Am reminded of Robin Horsfall’s “your blood, our treasure” quote. Except our treasure contribution is barely 20% of what Ukraine needs.
Why can’t we even use putinaZi treasure? Instead, we are trickling it out Biden style.
It also seems clear to me that Ukraine is short of at least 15 divisions. That money can be used partly to hire mercs.
But : the diaspora needs to be tapped too; especially the ones hiding in the EU.
The male diaspora need to be sent back to Ukraine, as long as they are not single parents or have real health issues.
Everyone with lots of money who doesn’t donate can go to hell.
