Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the consequences of Ukrainian troops’ strikes on Russian oil infrastructure in Tuapse, Perm, and Novorossiysk. According to him, the terrorist state has lost at least $7 billion since the beginning of the year.
He reported this on his Telegram channel. The Head of State also thanked the drone operators and SBU security officers for their effective work.
“Based on the results of this April, our long-range sanctions have reached a new level in three components: reduction of Russian oil profits, distance and intensity of sanctions. It is important that not only is the facility itself reached, as defined by the combat mission, but also the downtime of the facility is increased or at least its operation is significantly reduced,” the president summarizes.
According to the head of state, since the beginning of the year, the terrorist state has lost at least $7 billion. Moreover, as he emphasized, this is only directly from Ukraine’s attacks on the Russian oil refining infrastructure.
“I am grateful to all our soldiers of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, who, together with the SBU and our intelligence, ensure this result. We will scale the direction of our long-range systems. We are preparing a solution,” the head of state adds.
What is known about the latest attacks?
It was previously reported that on the night of May 1, another fire broke out in Tuapse. The marine terminal of the local oil refinery was subjected to another attack by Ukrainian drones, as a result of which a fire broke out on the territory of the facility.
The explosions and fire in the city were confirmed by local authorities, and the so-called “operations headquarters” clarified that the refinery in the city was attacked by drones.
In addition, in Perm, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Transneft oil pumping station on April 29, new explosions were also heard . A fire broke out at the site, and thick white smoke rose into the sky. Later, it became known about another arrival – at the Lukoil-Permnaftoorgsintez plant.
As OBOZ.UA reported, according to a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian army has significantly scaled up its campaign to destroy key Russian economic and logistics facilities. This April was a turning point, because thanks to the increase in domestic production of UAVs, the country has switched to massive strikes , because such attacks overload the Russian air defense system and reach targets deep in the rear.
