There are words more powerful than explosions. There is a truth that cannot be drowned out by gunfire. There is a language that cannot be erased from memory—so long as it is spoken, written, and fought for. The Ukrainian word has been in the making for centuries. It was banned; attempts were made to destroy it—yet it endured. Just as we, too, shall endure. “We shall fight for the truth to the very end, Even if a thousand devils are arrayed against us.” For our language is our memory. Our truth is our weapon. And our struggle is the continuation of a history that we write ourselves. Happy Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. 🇺🇦
