Balazs Orban stressed that his country could play a “serious role in mediation.”

Political adviser to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and member of parliament Balazs Orban confirmed that the Hungarian politician sent proposals to EU leaders on settling the war in Ukraine .

“The Prime Minister wrote to the leaders of the European Council about the negotiations, the experience of the first phase of the peacekeeping mission and the Hungarian proposals. If Europe wants peace and wants to have a decisive voice in resolving the war and stopping the bloodshed, it must now develop and implement a change of direction,” Balázs Orbán told Magyar Nemzet.

He said that Ukraine and Russia are very determined to fight, and “without external mediators, unfortunately, we will face very serious destruction in the coming months.”

Balazs Orban stressed that his country could play a “serious role in mediation.”

“Today we are the only ones who can negotiate with all sides,” Orban added.
