Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán accused the USA of the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines. According to him, it was a terrorist act “obviously carried out under American leadership.”

Orban made the corresponding statement at the Tusvanos summer camp in Romania,   European Truth reports . The Hungarian Prime Minister believes that European politics has collapsed and the continent has stopped protecting its interests.

“The fact that we are silent about the blowing up of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, that Germany itself is silent about an obvious act of terrorism carried out under American leadership against its property, and that we do not investigate, do not try to find out, and do not raise this issue legally – just as we did not do the right thing with the wiretapping of Angela Merkel, which was carried out with the help of Denmark, which is nothing more than an act of submission,” Orbán said. 

Explosions on “Nordic Streams”

Nord Stream gas pipelines pass through the Baltic Sea to Germany. As UNIAN reported, both strands of the Nord Stream-1 gas pipeline, as well as one of the two strands of Nord Stream-2, will be damaged by explosions in 2022. Russia and the West point the finger at each other, but each denies involvement.

In February 2024,  the Swedish prosecutor’s office closed a preliminary investigation  into the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The conclusion of the investigation is that there is no Swedish jurisdiction in the case and therefore the investigation should be closed. Subsequently,  Denmark refused to investigate  the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines right next to its territorial waters.

Mykhailo Gonchar, President of the XXI Strategy Center for Global Studies, believes that the West has already completed the investigation into the undermining of the Russian gas pipeline  “North Stream” , but is in no hurry to make the results public.

“Everything was clarified quite quickly. But it is not made public for the other reason, so as not to spoil relations with Ukraine… when the fact is that Russia did it, decisive steps need to be taken. You can’t just make statements here,” — Honchar noted.
