The Hungarian Prime Minister did not specify where exactly he plans to go next.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban plans to make several more “surprise” visits next week, he told Die Weltwoche on the plane from Moscow after meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
However, Orban did not elaborate on his plans.
“I will hold several meetings next week, which will be just as unexpected and still very much under control. Only when I arrive, everyone will be surprised that I am there,” the head of the Hungarian government intrigued.
He also responded to criticism over his friendly relations with Putin.
“Yes, I am criticized for being Putin’s friend, but for a second, I am a friend of the Hungarians. I am a friend of peace. This is very important. I am a friend of peace. The reason why I am negotiating with Putin is because I am looking for the shortest and fastest way to stop this war and achieve peace.
He recalled that before his visit to Moscow he visited Kyiv.
“That meeting was prepared in complete secrecy… And then, when it was over, then I started to organize a meeting with Putin. Can you imagine organizing that meeting two days later? And you did it on the highway, returning from Kyiv to Budapest? No, I sent a secret message to the Minister of Foreign Affairs so that he would organize something. Because, you know, telecommunications are completely under the surveillance of other “big guys”, – Orban said.
