On the night of August 5, the Tula region of Russia was hit by Ukrainian drones and missiles. The missile alert lasted for more than two hours, starting at 00:34 Kyiv time, and the UAV alert regime remained in place from the evening until almost 5:00 in the morning.

The target of the attack was another warehouse of the Wildberries marketplace. This was reported by the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+.

Around 03:30, footage of a massive fire in the logistics hub began to spread on social media. As it turned out from the published videos and photos, a large warehouse of the Wildberries company in the Oleksino settlement caught fire.

The Governor of the Tula Region, Dmitry Milyaev, claims that during the air alert, air defense units allegedly destroyed 107 Ukrainian drones.

According to the official, damage was recorded in two apartment buildings in the Venevsky district, as well as at two production facilities in Novomoskovsk and Uzlovsky districts.

In addition, the governor stated that “a UAV crashed” into the territory of the Wildberries sorting center, which then caught fire. The official claimed that fire crews were extinguishing the fire, and asked Russians not to take photos and videos from the scene, and not to allow them to be published or distributed.

What is known about the object?

The Wildberries distribution center in Oleksyn, Tula Region, is one of the company’s largest facilities and a key element of its logistics infrastructure. It covers an area of ​​about 300,000 square meters.

The center was built to serve the central part of Russia and reduce the load on the logistics hubs near Moscow (Koledino, Podolsk, Elektrostal). The facility accepts cargo under both the FBO (marketplace warehouse) and FBS (seller warehouse) schemes.

As a reminder, on August 4, multiple explosions were heard in several Russian regions at once, amid attacks by Ukrainian UAVs. In the city of Syzran, Samara Region, a local oil refinery was hit.

OBOZ.UA previously reported that on August 2, the Saratov region was attacked by drones. Explosions were heard in the regional capital: the Saratov Oil Refinery was hit, and there were also reports of an attack on Engels: according to preliminary data, a military airbase was hit there.
