On the night of April 12, when a major ceasefire was supposed to begin , Russian occupation forces launched Shahed kamikaze drones into Ukraine.

Updated at 00:35 : Russian reconnaissance UAVs are being spotted in the north of Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions.

Updated at 00:30 : Drones are in the east and south of Chernihiv region (course – west/south/southwest), the west and center of Sumy region (southwest), the north of Poltava region (southwest), the east of Zaporizhia region (northwest/west) and the center of Dnipropetrovsk region (northwest).

Also, new groups of attack UAVs are entering the airspace of Sumy region from the Kursk region.

Updated at 23:45 : The Air Force detects a UAV in the north, east, and south of Chernihiv region, heading south/southwest.

Drones are also moving in the west of Sumy region (southwest direction), the north of Poltava region (southwest), and the east of Zaporizhia region (northwest/west).

At 23:07  , the Command warned about the activity of reconnaissance drones in the Zaporizhia region. Such drones could be gunners of Russian weapons of destruction, the Air Force deployed means to shoot them down. 

Russian reconnaissance drones were also recorded in the south of Sumy region, the north of Donetsk region, and Kherson region. 

Truce from May 12

Recall that Ukraine previously announced its readiness for a 30-day ceasefire, which is due to begin this Monday.

The initiative, supported by the United States and European countries, calls for a complete cessation of hostilities on land, in the air and at sea. If Russia refuses a complete ceasefire, Ukraine’s Western partners are considering tightening sanctions .

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is ready for direct negotiations with Russia only after Moscow confirms an unconditional ceasefire.

Kremlin leader Putin rejected the offer , saying he was ready to resume direct talks with Ukraine in Istanbul. Zelensky responded that he would be there in person on May 15 .
