A Russian missile attack on Sumy on April 13 destroyed the building housing the regional Human Rights Protection Center, the office of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights. This was reported by Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets .

“A weekend. A major religious holiday for Ukrainians – Palm Sunday. A day when Ukrainian families go to churches, walk around the city with their children. And it was on this day that Russia launched another missile strike on a peaceful city – in its central part. The epicenter of the strike also included the premises of the regional Human Rights Protection Center – our Representative Office, which was completely destroyed,” he wrote.

According to him, such attacks are cynicism of the highest level, because this is the deliberate destruction of the civilian population precisely on a weekend, when people go out into the streets, where they are least protected.

“Recently, Kryvyi Rih. Now, Sumy. This is no longer an accident. This is Russia’s terror tactics. The world has no right to remain silent. The best reaction is urgent action!”, Lubinets emphasized.

Rocket attack on Sumy on April 13 – what is known

As UNIAN reported, today, April 13, the Russians launched a missile strike on Sumy . The attack killed more than 20 people and injured dozens more, including children.

Later it became known that the number of victims of the Russian strike on Sumy increased to 24 people . The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, stated that the occupiers hit Sumy with rockets with cluster munitions.

“The Russians are doing this to kill as many civilians as possible. The strike on the city of Sumy is a deliberate shelling of civilians,” he wrote.
