On the evening of January 21, an attack on the Tamannaftogas oil terminal in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation was carried out by drones from the Alpha Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine. There is confirmation of significant damage to the infrastructure.
OBOZ.UA was informed about this by its own sources. They also shared a video of drones operating in enemy territory.
Consequences of a successful special operation
The UAV operators managed to deliver accurate strikes. The attack damaged:
- technological pipelines at berths;
- a series of tanks with vacuum gas oil;
- fuel oil tanks.
As for the latter, damage to the shut-off valves was recorded , which led to the leakage of petroleum products and subsequent fire. The total area of the fire was about 7 thousand square meters.
Estimated losses, according to preliminary estimates, are about 50 million US dollars.
We should add that Tamannaftegaz is one of the largest Russian ports in the Black Sea region, which provides transshipment of oil, gas and ammonia. Its tank farm for storing oil products and liquefied gas is over 1 million cubic meters.
“The SBU continues to systematically strike at the key energy and export arteries of the Russian Federation, which ensure the flow of funds to the budget of the aggressor country and directly finance the war against Ukraine. The destruction of such facilities is of critical importance for weakening the enemy’s economic and logistical capabilities,” our interlocutor emphasized.
Recall: the governor of the region, Veniamin Kondratyev, confirmed the drone attack and the large-scale fire. He claimed that four tanks with petroleum products caught fire on the territory of the terminal near the village of Volna, Temryuksky District, Krasnodar Territory.
The Kremlin accomplice also claimed that three people (employees of the enterprise) were killed and eight more were injured.
As OBOZ.UA wrote, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also reported that the Defense Forces struck the Tamannaftogas oil terminal, which is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army.
