In Engels, russia, in the Saratov region, firefighters have been unable to extinguish a fire at an oil depot for five days. The facility was attacked by drones on January 8, and on January 12, the regional governor announced that a “controlled burn” was taking place there.
The official’s statement was quoted by Russian media. At the same time, there were reports of the complete destruction of three and damage to six huge tanks, as well as that Russian firefighters had difficulty extinguishing the oil.
On the morning of January 12, Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin hastened to reassure Russians: the oil depot continues to burn “controlled” for the fifth day after the drone attack, and the burning oil tanks allegedly do not harm the health of city residents.

“Today, another meeting of the operational headquarters was held at the scene of the fire in Engels. The process of controlled fuel burnout is ongoing. Specialists are taking all necessary measures to eliminate the fire around the clock. As I said earlier, the amount of smoke, as well as the area of the fire, is decreasing. The latest air samples also did not reveal an excess concentration of harmful substances,” the Russian official said.
Videos have also appeared on the Internet that clearly demonstrate the “truthfulness” of such statements. By the way, on December 10, Busargin predicted that the “controlled burnout” would last another “two days”, but after this period, there are no special prerequisites for the end of the fire.

After a drone attack on the Kristal oil depot of Rosrezerv on the night of January 8, a more powerful fire broke out at the facility. A state of emergency was declared in the city.
At the same time, the Russian publication of the Cheka-OGPU, citing sources, spoke about the consequences of the attack. On the morning of January 12, the fire completely destroyed 3 tanks, each with a capacity of 120 thousand cubic meters. Another 6 tanks were seriously damaged.
In addition, the tank farm that stored fuel for the Engels-2 military air base was put out of action: at the time of the attack, there were about 800,000 tons of fuel there.
And the fact that the Russian Emergencies Ministry is “controlling the burnout” instead of extinguishing the fire at the oil depot, according to Cheka-ODPU sources, has specific reasons.
“The Russian Emergencies Ministry is experiencing an acute shortage of foaming agents to extinguish burning oil, so firefighters are forced to simply “accompany fires” at oil depots and monitor fuel burnout,” the channel writes.
As a reminder, on the night of January 8, Engels in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation was attacked by UAVs. As a result of the strike, a plant was hit, an oil storage facility caught fire, and a state of emergency was imposed in the city.
The Defense Forces confirmed the same day that an attack had been carried out on an oil depot in Engels, which supplied fuel to the enemy’s strategic aviation, and the Russians threw a tantrum over the drone attack and demanded revenge on Ukraine and Britain.

“…to reassure russians: the oil depot continues to burn “controlled” for the fifth day after the drone attack, and the burning oil tanks allegedly do not harm the health of city residents.”
No, in mafia land, it’s perfectly normal and okay to breathe toxic fumes and high concentrations of particulates.
That was a very nice job by the AFU again. More of mafia land must burn, so that their citizens can breathe in more of the healthy soot and gases.
Gee I thought it was an “industrial enterprise.” So much for RT news
