“Of course I love Vladimir Putin. Who wouldn’t?”

Conservatives 4 Ukraine

Washington Post: “Tucker Carlson inflames a raging battle for MAGA’s future.”
Tucker Carlson says “Of course I love Vladimir Putin. Who wouldn’t? Have you see how awesome Russia is?” Carlson claims the aggressive terrorist state is “thriving” under Putin.

National security conservatives agree with Carlson on many domestic issues, but on defense and foreign policy issues his outlook has long been similar to Michael Moore, Code Pink and the radical left. Carlson was wrong and Trump was right in authorizing strikes on Iran, Syria, the Islamic State and Venezuelan narco-terrorists.
Which way for the GOP? Peace through strength conservatives vs. isolationist populists. Many prominent populists opposed the Trump strikes which destroyed Syria’s chemical weapons production in 2018 and Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities in June 2025.
Carlson has consistently defended Putin and opposes all military aid to Ukraine. Their president is Jewish but Carlson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) refer to Ukraine as a “Nazi regime.”
Tucker Carlson called President Trump last weekend because he wanted to understand why the U.S. was attacking drug smuggling boats off the coast of Venezuela.
Carlson was alarmed because the strikes could be part of “regime change” policies he has always opposed. This one could be linked to an overthrow of the cruel and corrupt Venezuela dictatorship. Carlson’s recommendation is to always ignore aggression, even though about 100,000 Americans die every year because of drug overdoes.
The Trump team continued to ratchet up pressure on Venezuela in recent days, even as Carlson strongly opposed it.
In May 2018, Carlson strongly opposed the Trump authorized US strikes on Syria because “This isn’t why you were elected.” Trump acted because U.N. reports demonstrated North Korea had been helping the Assad dictatorship in Syria build an industrial-scale chemical weapons production facility.
Assad already had a history of killing thousands with sarin gas, and toddlers and mothers went blind, and suffocated after agonizingly fighting for their lives. Trump’s retaliation was supported by France and the UK. The goal of the original America First crusade was to keep the U.S. neutral in WW II.

Washington Post “Carlson is a divisive and influential figure at the center of some of the most heated disputes in MAGA — over foreign policy, antisemitism and conspiracy theories, among other topics.
“Trump doesn’t always heed Carlson’s opinions. Carlson is trying to push the party away from any foreign intervention and divorce it from Israel, drawing accusations he is repeating antisemitic tropes.
Amid the right’s infighting, some conservatives worry the party has grown too extreme, posing long-term risks.
Carlson says the criticism he is receiving from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is a proxy battle over the future of the party. Cruz denounces Carlson’s defense of Russian aggression and says “If you sit there with someone who says Adolf Hitler was very, very cool, and their mission is to combat and defeat global Jewry, and you say nothing, then you are a coward and you are complicit in that evil.”
To Carlson’s fans, he’s a champion of the populist “America First” agenda they see as the future of the GOP — a movement also embodied by MAGA stars such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Georgia), who earlier this year called Carlson one of her “favorite humans on the planet.”
But others see Carlson as a threat to the conservative movement.
He is a “Nazi promoter” and a “profit-driven lunatic,” says conservative commentator Mark Levin. A “super spreader” of bad ideas and an “intellectual coward,” according to Ben Shapiro.
Carlson has denounced the Trump campaign for accepting money from the pro-Israel lobby group AIPAC.
No episode of “The Tucker Carlson Show” has received more attention this year than his Oct. 27 interview with racist Nick Fuentes.
Carlson didn’t press Fuentes on his praise for Hitler, Stalin or his declaration that “Jews are running society, women need to shut the f— up, Blacks need to be imprisoned for the most part, and we would live in paradise.” It triggered a conservative outcry against Carlson.

During his annual marathon press conference on December 19, Putin said that using frozen Russian assets for reparations to Ukraine would constitute “robbery”—a cynical claim, given the extent of Russia’s systematic theft from Ukraine.

  1. In WW2 Britain, anyone speaking those words in public about Hitler would have been strung up, like Lord Haw-Haw.
In the United States of Krasnovia today, those views are mainstream in the putler wing of the ruling party.
