Odessa bid farewell to ex-vice mayor Sergei Tetyukhin, who died as a result of a rocket attack

On March 18, hundreds of Odessa residents came to the farewell ceremony for the former deputy mayor of Odessa, Sergey Tetyukhin, who died on March 15 as a result of an “Iskander” attack .

The funeral was attended by the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov.

“Sergei gave many years of his life to our city and the people of Odessa. He was an effective manager, did a lot of useful things for Odessa and could do more. But he decided for himself to choose the path of defense of Ukraine. Thanks to Sergey for everything! Bright memory!” he said.

The city council reported that Tetyukhin died during the second rocket attack when he rushed to help the victims of the first explosion.

As a reminder, in the fall of 2023, he  left his post at the mayor’s office and was mobilized in the Defense Forces.

In his position as vice-mayor, Sergey Tetyukhin did a lot to improve road traffic safety in the city, pushed for the implementation of the municipal online parking payment system, and proved himself during the coronavirus pandemic.

The co-founder of “Dumskoy”, deputy of the Odessa City Council Petr Obukhov recorded a video in memory of Sergey Tetyukhina.
