Russia is running out of armored vehicles.

The Russian occupiers at the front are running out of armored vehicles, and they are using small passenger cars, in particular Soviet Zhiguli, for assaults .
As Forbes columnist David Ax writes , one such incident was recently captured in the Luhansk region, when two Zhiguli cars, one of which was defiantly pink, sped toward Ukrainian positions, becoming easy targets for Ukrainian drones. As a result of the Ukrainian counterattack, at least one of the Zhiguli was hit and its occupants killed.
“The attack on the car was the latest in a series of such attacks. Last week, Russian troops gathered near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, loaded into at least seven cars and trucks and moved toward the Ukrainian line. One of the cars was flying an old Soviet flag,” Aks said, adding that this attack was also successfully repelled by Ukrainian forces.
Russian industry is unable to replace the critical losses of armored vehicles at the front, so trucks, vans and even cars are increasingly taking part in these assaults, notes Aks.
At the same time, he points out, Russian commanders knew that a shortage of vehicles was imminent. This fall, some regional commands began stockpiling cars, trucks and vans.
At the same time, due to the large number and continuity of Russian assaults, at least some of them find weak spots in the Ukrainian defense and break through it, the analyst emphasizes.
