Occupiers do not let Donbas residents into shelters during alarms – “Yellow Ribbon”

In temporarily occupied cities of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, Russian occupiers are prohibiting local residents from hiding in shelters located in schools and hospitals, as they are intended only for the military.

The Yellow Ribbon movement reported this in a telegram, Censor.NET reports.

In particular, this concerns Starobilsk, Svatovo, Donetsk and Zhdanivka. According to activists, this practice is widespread throughout the occupied territory of Donbas. Citizens with children are left without access to safe shelters during alarms, since all defensive structures are used exclusively by the occupiers for the needs of their military contingent.

Activists also reported that Ukrainian drones regularly fly over the occupied Luhansk region, heading deep into Russian territory. Their routes are laid out to bypass populated areas, but local residents still hear the work of Russian air defense .

The “Yellow Ribbon” emphasized that denying civilians access to shelters is a direct violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
