The woman’s spine was broken, she partially lost her hearing.

The Russians severely beat a 70-year-old volunteer and journalist from Kherson who refused to hand over her Ukrainian passport to them. The woman was leaving the occupied city, at the checkpoint the rashists wanted to take her documents.

Tatyana Antonyuk, 70, is a journalist, volunteer and patriot. Until recently, she did not want to leave occupied Kherson. A man who fights in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was able to persuade her. Then the woman decided to go with her neighbors. At an enemy checkpoint they were stopped by rashists.

The occupiers took away all valuables from people and wanted the elderly journalist to give them her Ukrainian passport. The woman refused, it was her principled position. This angered the occupiers, they began to beat the volunteer. The Rashists severely beat the woman, she miraculously managed to escape. She almost lost consciousness, her spine was broken. The woman managed to get into the car and run away from the checkpoint.

“She got to Lvov by an evacuation train in serious condition, where she was hospitalized at St. Luke’s Hospital. The examination showed a fracture of the spine and severe bruises of the head. The woman partially lost her hearing and could not move without assistance. In order for Tatiana to walk, our neurosurgeons had to perform complex vertebroplasty , in other words, to introduce special bone cement into the broken area,” the First Medical Association of Lviv said.

For more than a month, the woman has been in St. Luke’s Hospital. She had an operation. Now the volunteer can already get out of bed and does not plan to be sick for a long time. The woman says she wants to recover faster and start volunteering.
