A drone threat alert was declared in the Novosibirsk region, urging residents to stay home if possible and keep away from windows. It was issued through the Unified State System for the Prevention and Liquidation of Emergency Situations.

The alert read: “Stay home if possible! Take shelter in a room without windows, with solid walls! Do not approach windows. If you are outside or in a vehicle, make your way to the nearest shelter or other safe location.”

It was the first drone threat alert declared in the Novosibirsk region. Regional authorities had not commented on the alert as of publication.

The Novosibirsk region is more than 3,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

In late May, a missile threat alert was declared across the Ural Federal District for the first time — covering the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, and Tyumen regions, as well as the Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous districts.
