Novorossiysk’s Sheskharis terminal halts oil exports again after drone attack – Reuters

Crude oil exports from the Russian Sheskharis terminal in Novorossiysk have completely stopped after a drone attack.

This was reported by  Reuters with reference to sources, Censor.NET reports.

Paralysis of Russia’s main oil artery in the Black Sea

It is noted that the Sheskharis terminal, which processes about 700,000 barrels of crude oil per day, is the main Russian oil export facility in the Black Sea.

Russian Urals oil, Kazakhstani KEBCO and Siberian Light oil are exported through Novorossiysk’s port infrastructure.

On the morning of August 14, due to a drone attack, a tanker that was supposed to be loaded in Novorossiysk was forced to urgently go to the open sea.

According to a source familiar with the situation, due to damage and disruption to the facility, the tanks overflowed, causing the terminal to stop receiving raw materials.

Reuters notes that in July, crude oil shipments from Novorossiysk reached almost 1 million barrels per day. In June, this figure was about 800,000 barrels per day.

The shutdown of the terminal increases pressure on Russia’s energy infrastructure, which has been under regular attacks in recent months, the agency adds. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n4018492
