Russia will be the first overseas deployment of North Korean combat pilots since the Vietnam War.
North Korea has sent more than just ground troops to help Russia in its war against Ukraine. Fighter pilots who can fly Russian military aircraft have also arrived in Russia, Newsweek reports, citing South Korean media.

A South Korean government official said Pyongyang sent fighter pilots to Vladivostok in Russia’s Far East last month, ahead of the North’s first deployment of ground troops on Oct. 8.
“This may be related to training on Russian combat aircraft supplied to North Korea. But it is possible that Russia, which suffered from a shortage of pilots during the Russian-Ukrainian war, turned to North Korea for help,” the article says.
It is noted that Russia will be the first place where North Korean combat pilots have been deployed abroad since the Vietnam War. Pilots from the DPRK also operated in Syria and Egypt during the Yom Kippur War of 1973.
Newsweek has reached out to the North Korean embassy in China for comment.

Are the roaches running out of pilots? Did more get hammered than I know of?
The first NK pilot to get close to the Ukrainian border will keep on going, and that will be the end of that little plan.
Yes, if he’s smart.
