“Not a single US president bowed to the Russian dictator”: Biden blasted Trump

The US President said Trump views the defense alliance as a “protection racket”.

US President Joe Biden has criticized Donald Trump for encouraging Russia to invade countries that are not meeting their NATO obligations. The American leader said that such comments are a “dangerous and shocking” signal and are tantamount to worship of Vladimir Putin .

“Can you imagine the former President of the United States saying that? The whole world heard it. The scary thing is that he meant it,” Biden was quoted as saying by CNN.

Biden called on the House to vote “immediately” on the Senate’s additional $95 billion aid package, which would provide aid to Ukraine, Israel and U.S. partners in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as humanitarian aid for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

“No president in our history has bowed to a Russian dictator. Let me say this as clearly as I can: I will never do that. For God’s sake, it’s stupid. It’s disgraceful. It’s dangerous. It’s un-American.” said the US President.

He is confident that Trump’s words undermine US values.

“When America gives its word, it means something. When we make a commitment, we keep it, and NATO is a sacred commitment. Donald Trump looks at it as a burden,” Biden said.

According to him, Trump views the defense alliance as a “protection racket” and does not understand its role in protecting freedom and security.

“For Trump, principles never matter. Everything comes down to deals,” the American leader noted.

He said American opponents were “all jubilant” after hearing Trump’s comments.

“I will not leave. I can’t imagine any other president leaving,” Biden concluded.

  1. Yahoo News:
“Trump says he’d ‘encourage’ Russia ‘to do whatever the hell they want’ if a NATO country didn’t spend enough on defense.”

Which is tantamount to saying to your neighbour:
“If you don’t do what I want, I will send a bunch of savages to torture you, rape your kids and burn your house down.”

  2. The orange guy has his head stuck so deeply up Putin’s ass that he will not be able to remove it no more in this life.

    • I think Trump is arguing that if he didn’t push it, it wouldn’t have happened. I think to a certain degree it could be true. A number of nations started to feel the pressure in 2018 and began to do the right thing. Frankly I also think the War opened the eyes of a number of countries who had their heads up their butt.

      • Nope, sorry, not true, Captain. US governments have complained about insufficient defence spending by Nato countries since decades, way before 2017. And it was Putin, not his stupid buddy Trump, who convinced Europeans that they have to invest more in their militaries again. Brainwashed Trumpists won’t care about these facts, though.

        • Sorry Gray what you represent as facts are opinions same as mine. I can see both sides but there is no denying that following Trump’s threats there were an increase in defense spending and even the head of NATO admitted as much. Reality is a hard pill to swallow.

      • That’s right, Cap. It was not a mistake to rant at certain NATO members who were freeloading on their memberships. But, the orange monkey has overdone it massively with his latest statement. I know one shouldn’t put too much value on such talk, but he is an ex-president and should sound like one, and not like a schoolboy doofus.

  3. Biden speaks the truth. No US president had ever bowed to russia. Until the orange one came skipping along.
