Earlier, Trump announced that he had reached an agreement with Russia on the supply of diesel fuel to the American and global markets.

A tanker thought to be delivering Russian diesel fuel to the United States was actually carrying fertilizer, according to crude oil and petroleum product shipping monitoring company  TankerTrackers.com .

“The tanker MINERVA ZEN (9410909) is not carrying Russian diesel fuel. It is delivering UAN (urea-ammonia mixture), a liquid nitrogen fertilizer,” the company wrote on the X network.

Urea-ammonia mixture is used in agriculture to provide plants with essential nutrients. It consists of urea, ammonium nitrate, and water.

According to TankerTrackers, UAN imports into the US are permitted despite the hydrocarbon import ban introduced in March 2022.

The importer is EuroChem North America, the North American division of EuroChem Group AG, one of the world’s largest mineral fertilizer producers.
