The President of Ukraine considers this support a signal to Russian dictator Putin.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the approval of support from Norway for the next year will strengthen Ukraine’s ability to counter Russian aggression.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on the X network .
“Today, the Norwegian Parliament approved $8.2 billion in aid to Ukraine for 2026. I thank Prime Minister Jonas Gaard Støre, the Parliament, and all of Norway for this,” Zelensky stressed.
The president also said that Ukraine is grateful to Norway for its long-term military and humanitarian support, which “is evidence of true leadership, dedication, and strategic reliability.”
“Such contributions strengthen Ukraine’s ability to resist Russian aggression and send a clear signal to the Putin regime: Ukraine will continue to have support from its allies and will be able to stop Russia and restore lasting peace,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
In addition, he believes, every manifestation of such support weakens Russia’s intentions to “impose fear and confusion on Europe.”
