This year’s parade lasted only 45 minutes, making it one of the shortest in history.
North Korean soldiers took part in the parade that took place on Moscow’s Red Square on May 9 for the first time. They marched in a separate column, Astra reports .
“On Red Square, a parade of the Korean People’s Army under the command of Senior Colonel Che Yun-un. The fighters of the Korean People’s Army, side by side with Russian servicemen, made a significant contribution to the liberation of the Kursk region from the “neo-Nazi invaders”, while showing mass heroism, selflessness and courage,” said the announcer who commented on the parade.

As The Moscow Times noted , this year’s parade in Moscow lasted only 45 minutes, making it one of the shortest in history.
“It turned out to be almost half as short as the 2025 anniversary parade, which lasted about 1.5 hours. In 2024, the parade lasted a little more than 50 minutes: the broadcast began at 10:00 Moscow time and ended at about 10:52. Only in 2023 was the parade comparable to this year’s: it lasted about 47 minutes,” the publication writes.Read also:
In addition, as noted, for the first time in 19 years, the parade in Moscow was held without military equipment.
“The demonstration of weapons in the broadcast of the parade was replaced with video footage: viewers were shown a video with a demonstration of drones and nuclear weapons. It showed “samples of the latest Russian technology”, in particular drones, as well as the nuclear submarines “Arkhangelsk” and “Prince Vladimir”, – the report says.
