On the streets of Sudzha you can meet both local residents and those who came to pick up their relatives but were forced to stay in the city.
Sudzha is a district center in the Kursk region, over which the Ukrainian troops have established control. A UNIAN correspondent visited the city, talked to local residents and found out what is happening there now.

As it turned out, the Russian Federation itself “decommunized” the Lenin monument in the city center. It was destroyed by a Russian drone strike.
On the streets of Sudzha you can meet both local residents and those who came to pick up their relatives, but were forced to stay in the city after their car was damaged by shrapnel.
“Please make us a corridor, and people will all get out of here, somewhere. I came for my mother, my mother is bedridden,” said the Russian, who now does not know how to leave the city.
Residents of Sudzha say that the number of shellings has decreased in the last couple of days. There are no wells in the city, so locals boiled river water for drinking during the first few days. Ukraine organized the supply of technical water to the city yesterday, and starting today, Ukrainian military doctors began receiving patients in Sudzha.
“Today there were 10-15 people, we received them and provided assistance. There was a woman with a shrapnel wound. We will treat her here, I did surgical treatment of the wound, cleaned it. Tomorrow it will continue,” military medic Vladislav told UNIAN.
A 17-year-old resident of Sudzha named Ulyana said that there was no evacuation in the city, and the entire administration immediately fled. According to the girl, the Ukrainian Armed Forces quickly brought drinking water to Sudzha, but now residents are afraid that they may run out of gasoline and there will be nothing to fill the generator, without which there will be no electricity.
