Nikita Shaulsky Returns from Captivity: His Brother and Grandmother Were Killed by a Russian Missile

On October 18, Mariupol defender and National Guardsman Nikita Shaulsky returned from Russian captivity . He spent more than 2 years in Russian prisons, journalist Diana Butsko reported .

Nikita Shaulsky defended Mariupol as part of a company tactical group from the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion. The boy’s parents are waiting for him at home. His 12-year-old brother Maksim and grandmother Valentina became victims of Russian occupiers as a result of the attack on Krivoy Rog.

On the night of September 21, the occupiers hit a residential building in Krivoy Rog with a rocket, killing an elderly woman and her grandson. At that time, Nikita and Maksym’s father, who is also a serviceman, was in the Kherson direction.

The journalist noted that 12-year-old Maxim really dreamed of waiting for his older brother, took an active part in actions in support of captured Ukrainian soldiers. He believed in the victory of Ukraine and worried about each defender. It is noted that the defender released from captivity will be informed about the family tragedy later.
