The occupiers’ headquarters in Donetsk was responsible for organizing the Russian offensive throughout the east, Mykola Malomuzh noted.

During the strike on Donetsk on the night of July 1, the headquarters of the 8th combined arms army of the Russian Armed Forces , which is a strategic target of Kyiv, was probably hit. This was stated on the air of “Channel 24” by the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Army General Mykola Malomuzh.

“The army headquarters is a strategic facility that deploys directions of military operations virtually on the entire eastern front. And now a group of about 110 thousand people is one of the elements of organizing attacks in the Pokrovsky, Kramatorsk, and in general in the Donetsk direction. All operations are planned from the positions of this headquarters. And strikes on its location, the destruction of headquarters employees, infrastructure, and control systems are a strategic strike,” Malomuzh said.

He added that such strikes allow for a while to disorganize the work of the headquarters, destroy the personnel and technological component, and also weaken the enemy’s ability to carry out active actions.

“And on the other hand, to intensify our actions for this period. When there is no unified organization of enemy attacks and defenses, we have the opportunity to seek out those sectors where the enemy does not have coordinated positions, this really gives an advantage,” Malomuzh added.

  1. CALL ME STUPID, BUT WHY DESTROY THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE RUSSIAN ARMY IN UKRAINE ONLY AFTER 3,5 YEARS?

    • Because it was no easy target i think. It took some work to get through their firewall and take it out.
