On the night of April 23, Russian occupation forces attacked the residential sector of Odessa with drones.
“As a result of an enemy attack in the residential sector of Odessa, the houses of citizens were damaged and a fire occurred. Emergency services are working to eliminate the consequences. Seven victims are preliminary known,” the Southern Defense Forces reported .
As Mayor Gennady Trukhanov added , at least 14 apartments were damaged. The State Emergency Service, Municipal Guard and other emergency services were at the scene.

“It is already known that there are 7 victims. Preliminarily, there are no deaths. The Peresyp district administration is setting up an operational headquarters on the spot to resettle and provide assistance to the injured Odessa residents. According to updated data, 34 people have been rescued, including 3 children,” the message says.

Subsequently, the head of the Odessa OVA Oleg Kiper released updated information – as a result of a night drone attack on the city, 9 people were injured. Four of them are children aged 12 and 9 years old and two babies who are not even a year old.
“Three adults were hospitalized in the city’s medical institutions, they are in a condition of moderate severity, two more refused hospitalization, having received all the necessary help on the spot. Four children are also in a condition of moderate severity in the hospital. Doctors are providing the victims with all the necessary assistance,” Kiper assured .
According to the regional headquarters of the National Police, civilian infrastructure in the regional center – residential buildings, shops, cars of citizens – was damaged. One two-story apartment building was partially destroyed, followed by a fire that was quickly extinguished by firefighters. Law enforcement officers and other services are at the scene. An operational headquarters has been formed to resettle and provide assistance to the townspeople. They record the consequences of an enemy attack, collect evidence of Russian crimes, interview citizens, provide psychological assistance, and ensure law and order.
The press service of the State Emergency Service added: psychological assistance was provided to 27 people. 10 units of equipment and 42 firefighters were involved from the State Emergency Service. The work was carried out jointly with interaction services.
According to the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine, this night Russian terrorist troops launched several waves of attack UAVs of the “Shahed-131/136” type across the southern regions. The enemy’s target was the industrial and port infrastructure of the region.
In the operational zone of the Southern Defense Forces, they managed to shoot down 11 loitering shells: 7 in the Odessa region, 4 in the Nikolaev region.
