In addition, goods produced in Iran and Israel were banned.
The new interim government of Syria has announced a complete ban on imports of goods produced in Russia, Iran and Israel, Al Arabiya reports .

The publication notes that after the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime, a flood of various imported goods poured into Syria. In the capital Damascus, stores are filled with things that have not been seen here for a long time – from Turkish bottled water and Saudi food products to Western Snickers chocolate bars and Pepsi drinks.
In order to support the war-torn economy, the new government announced permission to use the dollar and approved the simplification of customs duties with their simultaneous reduction by 50-60%. The new authorities explained this decision by the desire to simplify the import of raw materials to support local producers and stimulate industry.
