Mercenaries from Nepal are fleeing the Russian occupation army. Among the reasons are huge losses in “meat assaults” and the commanders’ cruel attitude.
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) press service reports.
According to intelligence, the Russian invaders are looking for fugitives in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk region, but usually to no avail.
“The escape of mercenaries from Nepal, assigned to the military unit 29328 of the Russian Armed Forces, was caused by huge losses in “meat assaults”, the cruel attitude of Muscovite field commanders, including extrajudicial executions for refusing to comply with orders to go to certain death, as well as non-payment of promised money,” the HUR noted.
“The leaders of the Russian motorized rifle military unit in their reports and reports to the top explain the desertion of the Nepalese with nonsense about the possible “departure to their native country due to the earthquake,” they added.
In reality, it is quite problematic to get from the occupied territories of the Luhansk region back to Nepal. In addition, Nepal can bring its citizens to justice for participating in hostilities against Ukraine as part of the Russian army.
“As a result, the desire to earn easy money turned into a trap for Nepalese mercenaries, and there is no safe way out of it,” the HUR added.
- According to British intelligence, since the start of “partial” mobilization in September 2022, Russia has convicted 7,400 soldiers suspected of desertion.

As Barnum once famously said, there’s a sucker born every minute. There can’t be any compassion for people so stupid to volunteer for this cockroach army, where human life is worth as much as a handful of dirt.
Well, i do have some co passion, Mr. Ofp. They only wanted to provide for their families at home, after all. Would be great if Ukraine could somehow offer them a better deal, with higher chances for survival. 🤔
It’s really no secret that mafia land has been committing war crimes for decades, well before invading Ukraine, Mr. Gray. They’ve been doing it in Georgia, twice in Chechnya, in Syria, and across Africa.
Can the Nepalese be so ignorant about all of this? Or, are they just heartless and indifferent and chose the money over righteousness?
Yes and yes, Mr. Ofp. It’s a mixed bunch of ignorants and cynics, I guess. But regardless, it would be better if they fought for Ukraine, dontcha agree? 🤨
Of course, I agree.
I still don’t understand how they can opt going to mafia land instead. Was it only the stupid money?
Money’s always a huge motivation. Just rewatch that recent video by the Russian soldier who warned others to avoid the dangerous mistake he had made. I almost felt sorry for that guy. 👿
So, if money was the motivation for those Nepalese to fight for an obvious evil entity, why should there be any compassion for them and their plight?
Bexause Chinese censorship prevented those guys from getting an honest view of the issues, Mr. Ofp. It’s highly likely they didn’t know for what they actually signed up.
Regardless, Mr. Gray, they still don’t get any compassion from me. Not in this day and age when it’s so easy to get informed.
Ok, Mr. Ofp, but I, for one, don’t know enough about the information situation in faraway Nepal to pass judgment on that. Outside the cities, do they have internet at all? No idea. 🤔
Evidently, Nepalese people are reasonable folks. They know a meat grinder when they see it. Even for mercenaries, it’s not a good deal when the chance to make money in the long term is so low. They have to provide for their families at home, after all. It’s sad that they signed up with evil Russia in the first place. Would be great if they fought for the good side, Ukraine, instead!
👋😎🇺🇦
They could’ve gone to the Ukrainians first, but, instead, chose the losers and human rights abusers.
The Russians did active recruiting in Nepal, Mr. Ofp. I don’t think Ukraine even had a recruitment website in that language. I do believe that would be worth a try, though. 🤔
That may be, Mr. Gray. But, do the Nepalese not know who the ruskies are, or about their criminal past and evil methods???
Hmm, another idea: The British Army still employs a brigade of Gurkhas as elite soldiers. How about a NGO hiring veterans of that unit, plus additional mercenaries in Nepal, for a volunteer brigade, added to the Ukrainian foreign legion? All the UK government would have to provide is contact data. And, btw, France could do the same with its own, famous foreign legion. After all that grandstanding about Nato troops for Ukraine (without any serious efforts to get it done), how about at least helping to strengthen the international brigades already fighting there? 🤔
That would be a good start, Mr. Gray.
I always wonder if the powers to be in Western countries ever have the same good ideas as we do.
