The Kremlin claims that the trilateral US-Ukraine-Russia talks are “inexpedient” because Kyiv is not withdrawing its troops from the controlled part of the Donetsk region.
This was stated by the Russian dictator’s assistant Yuri Ushakov, quoted by the Russian Interfax, Censor.NET reports .
Russia’s ultimatum
The Kremlin again demanded that Ukraine leave the Donetsk region .
“Everyone understands, in particular, I would say, the Ukrainian negotiators, that now Kyiv needs to take only one serious step, after which, firstly, military actions will cease, and, secondly, prospects will open for serious discussion of the prospects for a further long-term settlement,” he said.
Ushakov added that “convincing each other is mostly a waste of time, because now this step is expected from Kyiv, in particular from Zelensky.”

- Recall that the last round of trilateral talks between Ukraine and the Russian Federation with the participation of US representatives took place in February. Since then, representatives of Ukraine and Russia have had only separate talks with the US team.
