In the encircled Mariupol, as a result of the actions of the Russian invaders, up to 22 thousand people were killed.

This was stated by the head of the Donetsk OVA Pavel Kirilenko in a comment to CNN .

“Now we are talking about 20,000 to 22,000 dead in Mariupol,” Kirilenko said.

The head of the UVA noted that the situation in the city is difficult and added that the count of victims is complicated by continuous hostilities.

He also commented on the Russian chemical attack in Mariupol.

“We know that last night, around midnight, a drone dropped some yet unknown explosive device, three people felt unwell on people who were in the area of ​​the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant,” Kirilenko said.

Chemical attack on Mariupol: what is known

On Monday evening, the fighters of the Azov regiment, who defend Mariupol from the invaders, announced a chemical attack on the Russians.

The invaders, according to the defenders, dropped a poisonous substance of unknown origin on the city from a UAV.

Three people have clearly expressed symptoms of  poisoning with military chemicals, but without catastrophic consequences, Azov leader Andrei Biletsky said.

Official confirmation from the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet been received. The collection of analyzes of the victims is hampered by continuous hostilities in Mariupol.

This was preceded by a statement by the representative of the “DPR” Basurin  about the need to use “chemical troops”  against the Armed Forces of Ukraine at Azovstal.

Britain and the United States  are checking the information received , after which they will take action.
