Russia just threatened nuclear war if NATO tries to blockade Kaliningrad, a Russian exclave on the Baltic Sea that’s smaller than Connecticut and cut off from the rest of Russia.
I break down why Kaliningrad looks like a fortress bristling with Iskander missiles and S-400s, but why a growing number of analysts think it’s actually Russia’s biggest vulnerability: a garrison with almost no ground troops, surrounded by NATO, and dependent on a single supply line nobody can guarantee. The loudest threats, it turns out, often come from the weakest position.
