NATO to Provide Additional Aid Package to Ukraine: Stoltenberg Says What It Will Include

The bloc is significantly increasing its support for Ukraine in order to force Putin to make peace.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Ukraine would receive a new aid package before the alliance’s summit in Washington. It would include additional air defense systems and ammunition.

In an interview with CBS , he noted that the bloc is significantly increasing its support for Ukraine and all NATO member countries have agreed to new training programs for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and long-term commitments.

“I expect that before the summit, which begins next week, there will be further announcements about strengthening air defense and increasing the amount of ammunition,” the secretary general shared.

Stoltenberg announced that new initiatives to help Ukraine would be announced at the summit. In particular, the creation of a logistics center in Germany, where equipment for training Ukrainian troops would be stored.

“This will be a big and important result of the summit, which will provide a more solid basis for our support for Ukraine,” he believes.

According to the Secretary General, the Alliance’s main task now is to ensure Ukraine’s victory. This is also a prerequisite for Kyiv’s future accession to the bloc. Stoltenberg emphasized that the only way to achieve peace is to convince the Russian ruler of the impossibility of winning on the battlefield. This requires long-term military assistance to Ukraine, which will ensure its advantage on the front.

“He must sit down at the negotiating table and recognize Ukraine as a sovereign and independent state,” he stressed.

NATO Summit in the US – What to Expect

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Douglas Jones announced that the event would offer Ukraine “concrete paths” to accelerate its membership in the Alliance. In the final declaration, member countries will confirm that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance in the future.

However, President Volodymyr Zelensky has already warned that there is no point in expecting Ukraine to be invited to NATO during the anniversary summit in Washington on July 9-11.

The Foreign Ministry added that Ukraine has two main expectations from the 75th anniversary NATO summit , which will be held this week in Washington.

“Our expectations from the summit are that the set of decisions that will be made there will mean two things: a significant strengthening of our defense capability, especially in the air defense sphere, and a significant step towards NATO membership,” said the head of the department, Dmytro Kuleba.

  1. “He must sit down at the negotiating table and recognize Ukraine as a sovereign and independent state,”

Nah, he must be put in a cage and on display in Mariupol right in front of the “Diti” sign that was painted in front of the theatre he bombed. Then a year later take the cage and the clown on tour around Ukraine

    • Absolutely Sir Red! Absolutely. He needs to be publicly punished and ridiculed so that other maniacs know what to expect.

    • “He must sit down at the negotiating table and recognize Ukraine as a sovereign and independent state,”

What a ridiculous statement. The ghoul must be forced to watch his cockroach military get destroyed, muscovy levelled, st. petersburg levelled, and then he should get tortured to death, but slowly, very slowly. And, his gangsters, too.
