The bloc is significantly increasing its support for Ukraine in order to force Putin to make peace.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Ukraine would receive a new aid package before the alliance’s summit in Washington. It would include additional air defense systems and ammunition.
In an interview with CBS , he noted that the bloc is significantly increasing its support for Ukraine and all NATO member countries have agreed to new training programs for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and long-term commitments.
“I expect that before the summit, which begins next week, there will be further announcements about strengthening air defense and increasing the amount of ammunition,” the secretary general shared.
Stoltenberg announced that new initiatives to help Ukraine would be announced at the summit. In particular, the creation of a logistics center in Germany, where equipment for training Ukrainian troops would be stored.

Stoltenberg emphasized that the only way to achieve peace is to convince the Russian ruler of the impossibility of winning on the battlefield. This requires long-term military assistance to Ukraine, which will ensure its advantage on the front.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Douglas Jones announced that the event would offer Ukraine “concrete paths” to accelerate its membership in the Alliance.
