In Ukraine, biomethane can replace up to 10 billion cubic meters of imported natural gas.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko during the Ukraine-France Forum held in Paris, the  National Industrial Portal reports with reference to EcoTown.com.ua .

“Ukraine can replace all imports of natural gas with biomethane. This requires huge investments and about 5 or even 10 years, “he said.

According to Yuriy Vitrenko, Naftogaz Ukrainy is currently implementing a national program that will increase biomethane production, which is beneficial not only from an economic point of view, but also for environmental protection.
