Trump, Zelensky. Who Benefits?

Increasing desperation.

Trump, Zelensky. Who Benefits?

According to recent polls, 40%per cent of the population of the United States still support Donald Trump. Although this is a considerable step backwards from his position ten months ago it is still bewildering to many people across the world. When one considers 25% of the US population cannot read or write and that another 20% have an IQ below 80, with some overlap it is still enough to swing an election.

Those people remain steadfast when they have ICE agents intimidating and attacking people in every city in the USA, Inflation is rising, food and fuel prices increasing, tourism from Canada down 90%, travel warnings from European, Australian and New Zealand Governments advising people not to go to the USA as correct papers and visas may not be enough to prevent an arrest without due process. Canada and Mexico are trading around the USA and reducing their reliance on the US market. Amazon are reducing their risk. Everything that Trump does exacerbates the problem. The dollar continues to lose value, the markets are nervous, allies no longer regard the USA as a reliable friend.

Who benefits?

Not the people of the USA, not the NATO alliance, not American business. The only beneficiaries of the Trump presidency are the enemies of the USA.

Last week Trump met President Zelensky for the sixth time since February. The meeting was to dangle Tomahawk missiles as bait to get President Zelensky back into the USA. Once there, Trump played his usual game of carrot and stick around the table but this time he didn’t repeat his previous error of trying to intimidate President Zelensky in public, he hid his bullying attempts behind closed doors this time, but the evidence leaked out.

Putin is desperate to shut down his war in Ukraine with some vestige of victory. Putin is losing his war; his economy is collapsing, and his support structure is waning. Putin regards Trump as his only remaining method of applying pressure onto Zelensky.

It is obvious from any perspective Putin has some dreadful leverage over Trump. Whatever it is, once released it loses it’s coercive value. It might be treason, or some dreadful criminal act. Putin, however, is desperate and the more desperate he gets the more likely it becomes he will destroy Trump. As a result, Trump also becomes increasingly desperate. He is swinging wildly at Venezuela hoping perhaps to start a small war against a weak opponent to distract the world. Politicians who start wars never know how to end them.

One can imagine the conversation.

‘Donald, I don’t know how much longer I can hold back this information. My people are placing me under a great deal of pressure. Something must be done about Ukraine, or I might not be here to protect you.’

Reports today, mention Trump shouting and throwing objects around the meeting room in the face of President Zelensky’s refusal to be intimidated. Trump insisted Ukraine accept Putin’s repeated offer of a ceasefire in return for a Ukrainian surrender. Russia has not moved one centimetre from its position of a year ago.

Ukraine has become increasingly self-reliant, where it isn’t, many other nations are taking up the slack. The world is getting used to managing without the dollar, without the US military industrial complex and without the US administration.

Ukraine is winning the war, President Zelensky can go home knowing the meeting with Trump cost him nothing but time. His star is rising, he expected nothing and got nothing; the whole process was Trump theatre. A pretence. Zelensky had to attend to avoid accusations of being a warmonger. Remember, Trump accused Ukraine of starting this war!

Since February 2025 Trump has made life as difficult as he can for Ukraine, he has also made life as difficult as he can for the people of the USA. Even MAGA disciples might change their minds when ICE come knocking on their doors, once their crops rot in the fields and gasolene is too expensive and they join the tented, homeless communities on the sidewalks of US cities.

Who benefits?

Slava Ukraini!

Tyrant delusional syndrome.

Another Rant!

‘Mr Horsfall you obviously hate Trump; you have Trump Delusion.’

‘Robin, you have no idea about politics. Stick to what you know about. You are biased.’

‘You are obviously a left-wing snowflake…’

‘You are a right military Nazi…’

‘One of Maggie’s murderers…’

‘Terrorist, Jew lover, Hamas admirer, Putin hater, Europhile, anti-British, Brexiteer, liar, fool, idiot, traitor, etcetera.’

Since I have been posting daily opinions, I have been accused of all the above.

I am not whining. I take it as a compliment so many people from so many positions can project their dark shadows in my direction. The diversity of my critics shows I can piss a lot of people off from many occupations.

One might think this is a good way to lose all your friends and followers, but the opposite appears to be the case.

If there is one accusation that might hold water, it is the claim of my bias. I am biased against anyone and everyone who insults my intelligence with their lies. I am biased against authoritarian rulers, tyrants, bullies, abusers of authority, cowards (although I have sympathy for those with no choice), media presenters who lie for money, soldiers who oppress their own people, policemen who lie in court, lawyers who abuse the law, money makers who corrupt the state, greed, malice, avarice and probably worst of all disinterest!

Yes, I am biased, yes, I will write an opinion every day about those on every side who engage in the above.

This is humanity’s never-ending fight. The fight for decency and compassion. The fight to deal fairly and sympathetically with one another. The fight to defend our cultures and beliefs without needing to destroy those of other people. The fight to remove the fear of one another, to encourage understanding, to promote knowledge, learning, circumspection, introspection, critical thinking, ethical thinking. To encourage people to think about their words and actions and the consequences of those actions and to defend what is morally right.

Yes, I am biased against Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin because they are the world’s leading autocrats and criminals. I am biased against the Hamas murderers who continue their terrorism on behalf of the Iranian Government. I suffer from Tyrant Delusion Syndrome. I despise Benjamin Netanyahu and condemn his action in Gaza. I condemn those leaders who believe they must kow-tow to tyrants for the greater good in the belief supporting evil can lead to a greater good. FQ! When I think you are wrong, I will continue to say so.

I don’t expect perfection, we are all human and get things wrong, even with the best intentions, but there are those in the world whose intentions are evil in the truest sense of the word and need to be confronted. If we all confront wickedness at its roots rather than excuse it, we might make a difference. That confrontation begins with words, with criticism, with chastisement and correction. Every writer, teacher, parent, and leader at any level has a moral duty to impart noble values of decency to our children. Yes, I am biased. I want ethical values taught in school at every age. Not all values, not nihilistic values where there is no wrong, just a perspective, but the values of wisdom and cooperation, the values of high-level education.

The world is always a dangerous place, we are always at risk, but for the benefit of future generations I encourage you all to join me in being biased. To speak out against the wicked, greedy, and cowardly side of human nature. If we are fortunate enough not to send our children to war or watch them die of curable diseases, or starve, – then it is because we respect one another; share or trade our surplus and improve the world for the next generation.

Leadership requires Integrity, Courage, and a Good Example – over a long period of time. To survive Democracy requires a loud and continuous voice that never goes silent. It needs virtuous leaders not populists. It needs voters who know what and for whom they are voting!

Yes. I am biased. No, I will not be quiet because I offend you! I will read what you say and consider its merits provided it doesn’t open with an insult or accusation, but I will not shut up!

It was wonderful to see millions of Americans march peacefully in the ‘No Kings’ rallies across the USA, proving the majority support good over evil; care about others and place others before themselves.

There are three groups in the power network. Those who make the laws, those who break the laws and the people who try to obey the laws. We in the third group are the most powerful when and if we speak up. We can’t always right, but we can try to be fair and decent.

Don’t let anyone steal your voice!

  1. “One can imagine the conversation.”

‘Donald, I don’t know how much longer I can hold back this information. My people are placing me under a great deal of pressure. Something must be done about Ukraine, or I might not be here to protect you.’

Satirical, but as many fair minded people would understandably think, not far from the truth.

    • His imagination is much more reliable than AI drivel refuting the straightforward ballroom story.

The truth is probably a lot worse. Krasnov has clearly stated that he wants to give land to child-murdering nazis. There is not much further that anyone’s imagination can go than that terrible truth.

You think you can lol about that?
You said you didn’t know who Krasnov is.
Well putler certainly does that’s for sure.

      • Its your choice to be led by the nose. You have a right to believe lies and propaganda. I would be angry I was lied to, but some people like it because it furthers their cause. Truth be damned when it goes against Karl Marx….

    • There’s allot of propaganda on both sides. Unfortunately what Trump is doing to Ukraine is not delusional. To support anyone who advocates genocide, IMO, is the essence of a distorted and evil individual. That is plain and simple.

        • “Can you show me anything Trump said, advocating genocide?”

I’m not sure where you got that. I saw Cap write:

“what Trump is doing to Ukraine is not delusional. To support anyone who advocates genocide, IMO, is the essence of a distorted and evil individual.”

Sounds to me like he’s saying, “putler advocates genocide. trumpkov supports putler. Supporting someone who advocates genocide shows trumpkov to be a distorted and evil individual.”

      • That’s what I thought, there’s nothing. But the lies and propaganda continue and TDS sheep continue being led by the nose. You’re a good guy Cap, try using the brain God gave you instead of allowing liars to run your life. Trump’s problem is he’s trying to be a hero and turn putin, just like the presidents before him. Sure its a fool’s errand but even Stevie Wonder could see Trump’s trying to stop the war and the killing. How do you advocate genocide and also try to stop the war? Use your head bro, you’re not the lying type.
