The Russians struck heavily in several regions of Ukraine that night and early this morning, but the main blow was focused on Kyiv.

Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported this on the air of the Suspilne channel . He revealed the features of the nightly massive strike by the Russian invaders.

“Similar to the strike that took place on May 24. In fact, we have about 700 weapons in number. A lot of missiles. The peculiarity of the strike is ballistics. A lot of ballistics. 33 classic Iskander-M ballistic missiles and in two waves the enemy struck with Zircons. Zircon is an anti-ship missile, but it attacks like ballistics. Therefore, we classify it as ballistic,” Ignat explained.

According to him, the peculiarity of the use of “Zircons” was that the enemy used 8 such missiles.

“Four from the northern direction and four more in the morning, when the country was already recovering from the strike, when the Air Force’s information briefing was already being prepared, and the enemy launched those four missiles at Kyiv from occupied Crimea. Cynical. This is another terrorist act, because understanding that doctors are also providing assistance to people, perhaps the State Emergency Service is working on the ground, saving people, four more missiles went over the capital,” Ignat emphasized.

He reported that in total the enemy fired 73 missiles – 41 of which flew on a ballistic trajectory. Not only Kyiv, but also other regions – Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Poltava – were hit by ballistic missiles:

“But the main blow to the capital was accentuated, just like last time on May 24.”

At the same time, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to intercept a significant number of cruise missiles. In fact, 26 out of 27 Kh-101 air-launched missiles, 3 out of 5 Caliber missiles were intercepted (the work of Air Force pilots is noted). A large percentage of interceptions of UAVs of various types is also recorded. There were both classic and jet-powered Shaheds. 602 out of 656 were intercepted.

“Despite this, there are hits, downed aircraft fall, destruction, and unfortunately, there are deaths. A total of 30 ballistic missile hits have been recorded in Ukraine. This means “Iskander-M”, as well as “Zirkon”. And three cruise missiles. And also 33 drones,” Ignat added.

He noted that the enemy caused serious damage. Falling debris was recorded at 15 locations. “The impact was quite strong,” he noted.
