The city’s mayor confirmed that a high-rise building had been hit and reported two casualties as a result of the Russian attack.

On Thursday, October 30, Russian occupiers launched at least five attacks on civilian infrastructure in the Kovpakovsky district of Sumy, Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar reported on his Telegram channel .
Updated at 12:28 AM: Kobzar confirmed that Russia struck a high-rise building in the city’s Zarechny district.
“We currently know of two victims – medics have provided them with the necessary assistance,” the city mayor wrote.
He noted that information about the wounded is being clarified.

“The explosions you heard in the city were hits on civilian infrastructure in the Kovpakovsky district. Five strikes were recorded,” he wrote.
Kobzar also added that, according to preliminary information, there were casualties as a result of the Russian attack.

“Stay in cover if possible, the attack continues,” he informed the townspeople.
Kobzar added a photograph to his post, showing a fire in the distance.
Correspondents from the Suspilne Sumy newspaper reported that Russian occupiers had entered the apartment building and published a photo from the scene, which shows a fire on the upper floors of the building.
“A fire is raging at the site of the attack on a high-rise building in Sumy,” reads the caption under the photo.

The Ministry of Energy reported that Russia was launching a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Due to the attack’s aftermath, emergency power outages have been imposed in most regions of Ukraine. Eleven people, including six children, were injured in Zaporizhzhia. A dormitory was reportedly hit.

The city council announced that stabilization work would be carried out to prevent potential emergencies and ensure the safety of residents. Residents were warned not to approach the television tower and to limit their time spent within a 200-meter radius.
