The enemy launched 55 missiles and 21 attack drones over Ukraine.

On the night of May 8, Russian terrorists launched another massive combined attack on the territory of Ukraine . For this, they used various types of missiles and attack UAVs, the Air Force of Ukraine  reported .

In total, the invaders used 76 aerial targets – 55 missiles and 21 attack drones:

• 1 Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missile;
• 2 “Iskander-M” ballistic missiles;
• 4 Kalibr cruise missiles; 
• 45 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aircraft;
• 1 “Iskander-K” cruise missile;
• 2 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided air missiles;
• 21 shock unmanned aerial vehicles of the “Shahed-131/136” type.

The anti-aircraft forces of Ukraine destroyed 59 enemy targets, in particular: 

• 33 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles;
• 4 Kalibr cruise missiles;
• 2 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided air missiles;
• 20 shock UAVs of the “Shahed-131/136” type.

It is noted that the objects of the critical infrastructure and other strategic objects of Ukraine were targeted by the occupiers. 

“I would like to thank everyone who made every effort today to prevent the enemy from achieving its goals. Today, May 8, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War. We honor the fallen of that terrible war, we honor the Ukrainian heroes of today, who this time they are defending their homeland from racism,” wrote Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi also commented on the massive attack on Ukraine . He noted that the Russian occupiers attacked infrastructure in the Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhya and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

“All the necessary services are already working on the ground, eliminating the consequences of terror. The massive missile attack by Nazi Putin on the Day of Remembrance and victory over Nazism in the Second World War. The whole world must clearly understand who is who. The whole world has no right to give Nazism another chance “, Zelensky wrote. 

Russia continues terror against the civilian population: the latest news

Defense forces destroyed all air targets that were flying towards Kyiv. However, due to falling debris in four districts, people were injured. Two victims, a woman and a man, were taken to the hospital with numerous injuries to their limbs and shrapnel wounds.

In addition, on the morning of May 8, the Russian occupiers for the first time in a long time took cruise missile carriers into the sea . It is noted that the total salvo can be 12 missiles.
