More than 150 million euros: the Netherlands will help Kyiv with the purchase of ammunition for F-16s and drones

The Netherlands is allocating more than 150 million euros for the purchase of ammunition for F-16 aircraft , which will be sent to Ukraine. This was announced by the country’s Minister of Defense Kaisa Ollongren .

The Netherlands is purchasing air-to-ground ammunition for the F-16, she said. This ammunition will be purchased directly from industry. In addition, the country’s defense department reported that it would send previously promised F-16 fighters to Romania to train Ukrainian and Romanian pilots.

“This applies not only to the aircraft itself, but also to all spare parts and ammunition associated with it,” the statement said.

It is noted that the Netherlands is also making a contribution of more than 200 million euros in the field of drones. The plans are to purchase a significant number of ISR drones and transfer them to Ukraine.

“This is being done in agreement with other partners and the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the department emphasized.

Earlier, the European Commission paid Ukraine the first tranche of 50 billion euros of macrofin . Also, according to the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, on March 21, the European Council will discuss the issue of accelerating the process of Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
