Experimental mobile field churches will be created for believing Russian soldiers, the main military-political directorate of the Russian Armed Forces reported.
According to Interfax, the Russian military gave such a technical task to the Mobile Complexes and Systems design bureau. The bureau is to create a model of a mobile temple based on the UAZ Patriot car, as well as a model of a field temple based on an army tent.
The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has been producing the UAZ Patriot off-road vehicle since 2005. The car is designed to carry five people, including the driver.
Since 2011, a mobile church has been operating in Tatarstan in the form of a bus-temple. Priest Andrei Strelkov from the city of Zainsk created a mobile church based on the PAZ-3205 bus and began to travel on it to remote villages where there is no church to preach and conduct liturgies. In preparation for the service, a dome with a cross is installed on the roof of the church bus. From 30 to 50 people can be in the temple on wheels at the same time.
