On the night of Tuesday, May 5, the Russian city of Cheboksary (the capital of the Chuvash Republic) was hit by missiles. Their target was the enterprise of JSC “VNIIR-Progress” LLC “ABS Electro” – a facility of the Russian military-industrial complex.
Footage of the arrivals and the fire that broke out after them was published online. The author of the Telegram channel “Dnipro Osint Garbuz” reported that “VNIIRP-Progress” was again under attack in the city.
“A hit by an FP-5 “Flamingo” missile was recorded at the VNIIR-PROGRESS JSC plant in Cheboksary. Manufacturer of anti-jamming “Komet” navigation modules for Russian UAVs, cruise and ballistic missiles,” he wrote.

The Ministry of Defense’s GUR previously informed that “VNIR-Progress” is a manufacturer of navigation equipment. The Russian military-industrial complex enterprise ensures the production of adaptive Comet antennas, which are used in particular in Shahed strike UAVs, unified planning and correction modules (UMPK) for guided aerial bombs (CAB), and other high-precision weapons.

Later, Osinter confirmed the hit on the VNIIR-Progress workshop/administrative building. “Previously, this particular part of the plant was already attacked by drones,” he wrote.

The head of the Chuvash Republic, Oleg Nikolayev, confirmed the attack on Cheboksary and reported one casualty.

As OBOZ.UA reported, on February 18, residents of Cheboksary (Chuvashia) reported numerous explosions. At that time, drones also attacked VNIIR-Progress.
This plant in Cheboksary, located about a thousand kilometers from the Ukrainian border, has been attacked before. In particular, after the attack on June 9 last year, the enterprise temporarily suspended work.
