On the night of August 18, explosions were heard in temporarily occupied Sevastopol. After the attack, a fire was recorded in the area of military equipment warehouses. The main electrical substation of the city could also have been hit, near which there was a loud noise.
The explosions in Sevastopol caused a brief blackout. The Telegram channel “Crimean Wind” reports this.
Military equipment warehouses are under attack.
In temporarily occupied Sevastopol, a fire was recorded in the area of military equipment warehouses after a night attack.
According to “Crimean Wind”, the fire occurred near the village of Alsou (Morozivka).
The Sevastopol electrical substation was attacked
At night, the main electrical substation of the city was also attacked in occupied Sevastopol. According to “ Crimean Wind”, two explosions were heard in the area of the facility, after which the power supply disappeared for a short time.
In the morning, a downed drone was found near the substation, and Russian rescuers were working on the site. The attack continued intermittently until 04:00, with its main phase falling at 01:25-02:40.
This substation provides distribution of electricity from Balaklava TPP and MGTP.
As a reminder, on August 13, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a series of strikes on enemy military facilities in the temporarily occupied territories of Russia. Among the main targets was the Nebo-U radar station in Sevastopol.
As OBOZ.UA reported, on the night of August 17, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked Russian military facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea and the Kherson region. The sites of storage, preparation, and launch of drones, as well as facilities that provided their control, were hit.
