Serhiy Bondar died after completing a combat mission during the plane’s approach for landing.

On the night of Saturday, August 23, MiG-29 fighter pilot Serhiy Bondar died, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

“On the night of August 23, 2025, after completing a combat mission during landing, the pilot of the MiG-29 fighter, Major Bondar Serhiy Viktorovich, born in 1979, died,” the report says.

The department added that the causes and circumstances of the disaster are being established.
